Sprint Training

Sprinting feels amazing. If you’ve read other pages on this site, there’s a small chance you might just have picked that up from me. Why do you want to do it? You may be a competitive sprinter, but odds naturally say that you’re not. Are you a rugby player who wants to add an extra element to their game? A basketballer who wants to be more explosive round the court? Are you a non sports person who wants to learn a new skill? … and get ferociously fit at the same time. Are you a parent who wants their child to improve coordination?
Untold reasons why sprinting is amazing. Let me know.

It might not seem like it unless you’ve studied it, but sprinting is one of the most technical disciplines in athletics. It’s very rare that when I evaluate someone’s sprinting style that there aren’t several aspects that could be worked upon. What this means is almost everyone has the potential to be much much quicker.
For me, I always find that if a skill is easy, then it’s not especially rewarding. Seeing kids who, at first might not be as naturally athletically gifted as a peer … who then go on and hold their own on the pitch, is extremely rewarding.

The nature of sprint training can potentially be extremely demanding, and it should come as no surprise that you get extremely fit and strong at the same time. Yet, sprinting is for everyone and we first and foremost make absolutely sure that you aren’t going to injure yourself. The progressions must be very cautious and careful …
… but what’s not to like. Strong, flexible muscles and joints; strong heart and lungs; reduced inflammation in the body; feeling of energy … I’ll stop now. Try it out maybe … is so rewarding.

Why Use a Sports Scientist?
Sports Scientists are trained to a significantly greater degree than Personal Trainers in human physiology. There are some good Physiotherapists, Osteopaths and Chiropractors, but far too often, too many are prescribing unproven, ineffective treatments. It baffles.
Modern science and a deep understanding of the body is of paramount importance so that you receive the safest, best advice and effective personalised programming.
