Strength Training Over 40
Build practical strength, protect your joints, and move confidently at every age.
No False Promises, No Poseurs, No Mirrors

Why do you want to be strong? For me, it’s bounding up the stairs like it’s nothing, carrying a heavy box, knowing I can still (just) beat my 11 year old son in a foot race at the park. It’s also seeing loved ones in pain, old before their time and the way it makes simple daily life hard. Training isn’t for everyone, I get it, but the amount you have to do to overcome age-related degeneration isn’t as much as you might think.

If I got a pound for every time I’ve heard “I don’t wanna look like Arnie” …. you won’t. Natural bodybuilding doesn’t exist. There’s a) people who train and b) people who train + drugs.
We are vehemently anti-steroids. We train for health. You’ll look good though, lose some timber. You’ll stand up straighter, walk freely and not make that sound when you get up out the chair.

There are no mirrors at LeedsStrengthHealth. Poseurs don’t call us (thankfully). Sessions are 30 minutes in which we get everything done that we need to. It’s an informal atmosphere but we’re very serious about what we do, and everything has a scientific justification.

Why Use a Sports Scientist?
Sports Scientists are trained to a significantly greater degree than Personal Trainers in human physiology. There are some good Physiotherapists, Osteopaths and Chiropractors, but far too often, too many are prescribing unproven, ineffective treatments. It baffles.
Modern science and a deep understanding of the body is of paramount importance so that you receive the safest, best advice and effective personalised programming.
