Ante & Post Natal Training

Whether you’re looking to continue exercising in pregnancy, or if you are looking to start exercising in pregnancy, it is of course necessary to make some changes. If you currently exercise then there’s no physiological benefit to increase intensity. We carefully maintain. Baby is well protected and benefits from your system(s) working well in all respects; muscles, bones for support, endocrine system, lack of inflammation, good nutrition, good blood flow, energy levels and on … Sometimes you’ll want to work a little harder than other days … but that’s fine … other days you won’t … that’s fine too.

If you’re new to exercise then good for you for thinking about it at this time. It’s encouraging that old-fashioned attitudes towards activity during pregnancy are largely gone, but we just need to make sure we know you really well. Always with everyone, we’ll have a deep consultation and work out what we can and can’t do, it’s very personalised.
We take the upmost care to ensure everything is safe. We are here to make sure you are able to undertake everyday activities and provide the healthiest start for baby. Keeping active at low level intensity leads to less inflammation in the body and hopefully less aches and pains as baby grows.

How we approach post-partum is highly personalised also. What was your previous exercise history? How did the pregnancy go? How did the birth go? How do you feel right now? What is your lifestyle like right now .. I could go on and on …
LeedsStrengthHealth is only ever small groups of max four people. This is important to keep attention focused acutely and nothing left to chance. My aim is to allay fears that you might not receive close attention from experts. I hope I have done so but please get in touch and we can have a chat.

Why Use a Sports Scientist?
Sports Scientists are trained to a significantly greater degree than Personal Trainers in human physiology. There are some good Physiotherapists, Osteopaths and Chiropractors, but far too often, too many are prescribing unproven, ineffective treatments. It baffles.
Modern science and a deep understanding of the body is of paramount importance so that you receive the safest, best advice and effective personalised programming.
