Indoor Cycling (some call it “Spinning”)

There is nothing more marmite than indoor cycling when it comes to health and fitness. Those who love it, really love it; those who hate it, hate it with a passion.
Have you done it? You’ll only know if you try.
Before I say the next bit, let me prefix by saying that indoor cycling sessions are controlled by you, in that … you set the resistance. If you want to take a break, then by all means do … so don’t be put off by the intimidating nature of what it can be. If it’s your first class, we’ll make sure you’re at the back of the class so you can see what everyone’s doing … and rest when you need to. (We can clearly see what you’re doing there and take good care of you).

However, for those that do want to, it must be said that almost nothing fitness-related can come close to indoor cycling for keeping the heart rate at extremely high levels for extended periods of time. This is its superpower.
Calorie-burning can be off the scale if you want it to be … (exceeding 1000 calories per session for experienced cyclists/spinners is far from uncommon).
We’ll teach you good technique and this can be beneficial for hip flexibility also which is a foundation stone of healthy mechanical fitness. We can also monitor you closely if you have heart issues and are seeking to do this to reduce, for example, blood pressure.

… but when all’s said and done, it’s just great fun when the lights are flashing and the music’s loud. Rock Spin, Pop Spin, Latin Spin, Bollywood Spin, Hip Hop Spin and others … request some of your fave tunes and we’ll stick them on the mix. Are you:
a) the person who wants to burn an extraordinary amount of calories without it feeling like a chore?
b) the person who would rather stick knitting needles in their eyes, than spin?
How will you know unless you try?

Why Use a Sports Scientist?
Sports Scientists are trained to a significantly greater degree than Personal Trainers in human physiology. There are some good Physiotherapists, Osteopaths and Chiropractors, but far too often, too many are prescribing unproven, ineffective treatments. It baffles.
Modern science and a deep understanding of the body is of paramount importance so that you receive the safest, best advice and effective personalised programming.
